It is not easy to produce maple
syrup and that is why it is so dang expensive. There is about a four to six
week window of opportunity to make this sweet wonderful syrup. Producers need
to gather the sap from the maple trees, transport it to the “sugarhouse”
(location where it is boiled) and boil the sap down (which can take two days).
We fortunately live in one of the best place on earth to
learn and witness this amazing practice from start to finish. Massachusetts has
an abundance of Maple Farms that are open to the public to observe the process and then sit down and
partake in the consumption there of!
