COOKING: FAKE ICE CREAM

We actually have an electric ice cream maker, a manual ice cream maker and about 5,000 ice cream stands serving up homemade ice cream in and around our town. However I have a recipe that may scream "make me, make me" to you. It is what I call a Fake Ice Cream recipe because it is like no other ice cream recipe I have ever seen and it feels like I am faking the process. But you be the judge…
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream
  • 1 1/4 cups of heavy cream

What To Do
  1. Mix condensed milk, vanilla, salt and sour cream until well combined.  To it add…
for CHOCOLATE variation: add 5-6 tablespoons of chocolate syrupfor MOCHA variation:  mix 1 large teaspoon of instant coffee powder with 1 tablespoon of boiling water. Add instant coffee mixture, along with a generous squirt of chocolate syrup to the condensed milk mixture
  2. Mix your heavy whipping cream on high until stiff peaks form {3 to 4 minutes}.
  3. Whisk some of the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture until incorporated and then gently fold the rest of the whipped cream in.
  4. Place in an airtight container
  5. Freeze 6 hours before serving!
