This outing is for the history - nature - sporty type or for those traveling with a sporty or nature or history type person…you get my drift. We are attempting to please many types with this Mass Pursuits day trip!
This adventure involves canoeing or kayaking down the Assabet, Sudbury and Concord rivers to the Old North Bridge and the battle site of the “shot heard around the world”. Whether you have your own canoe or kayak or you need to rent one the peaceful scenic waterway is worth the trip. The leisurely ride down the river is quiet and offers places to pull up and picnic or even swim. Blue herons, beaver damns and the occasional deer can be seen on your travels. Making the end destination the Old North Bridge is a fun way to keep the momentum going for little ones or you can keep traveling down the river. Fall could not be a better time to make the journey as you float through a tunnel of fall foliage.
