CRAFT: PAINTED ROCKS

This photo shows my finished product - just kidding!

Be it on a family vacation, at summer camp or on a play-date when young we have all participated in the fun summer pastime of rock painting. Everyone of course except me! Yes I had never been exposed to rock painting. Maybe a lacking mother (sorry mom) or lacking as a DYI mother myself. However I decided to check out this void in my life with a trip to the beach to collect rocks and some acrylic paints and pens.

Oh yea my life is now complete! Alright that may be an exaggeration but it was fun! With a little help from some great bloggers and Pinterest.there are endless possibilities for fun ideas to paint  Below are my personal favorites:

A Town
If you have kids this is such a cute idea for the sand box or matchbox cars in the playroom.

Words
Recently I went to a birthday party where we were asked to select from a bucket of rocks and paint a work that described the guest of honor.

Herb Labels
Why did I not think of this one! Looks nice and so functional.

Seasonal
At Christmas little reindeer or trees, Valentine’s day hearts, Halloween pumpkins and then glue a magnet on the back and boom you have seasonal magnets!
