I love Marblehead! I cannot envision a more picturesque
setting if one is seeking an old New England town on the water.
Marblehead in its day was
a major shipyard with commercial fishing and whaling ventures. Located 18 miles from Boston the town is perfectly situated on a picturesque bay. The town itself is a trip back in time with winding
narrow streets and homes well preserved from the 17th and 18th
century.
Marblehead is a center of recreational
boating, as well as kayaking and fishing. The town has a great selection of specialty and antique
stores.
There is no shortage of restaurants however if you do go a must is The Barnacle. Order the chowder (I believe it to be the best chowder in the area) and the
harbor view is to die for.
