DAY TRIP: BRIMFIELD FAIR (PART I)

One iron bed, a pine bed, ottoman, jelly mold, Victorian slipper chair, numerous prints, footstool, night table, vase, silver frames…the list goes on and on. I have been attending the Brimfield fairs for years. My house is filled with my finds from what is considered one of the largest antique fairs in the world.

Every May, July and September the tiny town of Brimfield Massachusetts is descended upon by bargain hunters and antique lovers alike. There are hundreds of vendors selling their treasures over a seven day period - come rain or shine.

The word massive to describe the Brimfield Fair is not used lightly, there are over 20 fields of booths ranging from every decade imaginable to every item unimaginable. It is a paradise on earth for those that enjoy antiquing. Bargains are plentiful but there is of course a fair amount of junk one has to sift through. However some would say that is where the fun lies!
