COOKING: CRANBERRY SCONES

Is there anything cozier on a chilly fall afternoon then a cup of tea (coffee for me), a good book and a yummy scone? This recipe is an easy one and the dough is great to “work with”.  The cranberries can be substituted out for just about any combination, such as: currants and orange, maple and pecan, banana and almond.

Cranberry Scone Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • ½ Tsp. salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg
  • ½ Cup heavy cream

To Make
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
  3. Add butter to mixture
  4. In a separate bowl whisk together egg and cream.
  5. Add egg and cream mixture to flour mixture and mix together
  6. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape into 2 circles and cut into triangles
  7. Place triangles onto baking sheet and bake for 13 minutes
