Maybe “happily” might be reaching too high but what the heck
lets reach for the stars on this one. It is not always the easiest of things to
get family, friends or partners to join you on your fun filled day trip
adventure. Be it a museum outing, a farmers market or just a hike, getting
people out and moving in the direction you want them to be can be challenging…
making sure they have a good attitude can be even more of an uphill battle.
Here are some tried and true tactics that may help with your
next ambitus outing.
Bribery
This tactic seems to work on any number of ages and personality types. It works on the premise of you scratch my back and I will scratch yours – you go to the museum with a good attitude and I will get you a special toy at the museum gift store when we are done. Dangling anything of interest (treats, small gifts, etc…) will make the trip a successful reality.

Compromise
This too works on the premise of you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. Except in this case you go to the museum with a good attitude and I will do something you enjoy next…next week, next year, next thing after the museum – whatever works.

Going out to Eat
This tactic is a blending of the above two…you are both bribing (the carrot of a meal being dangled) and compromising because you will let them select the food venue or type. Anyone will do anything if food was the end goal.
